About Us

How We're Making a Difference

The Thornton Tomasetti Foundation, a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization established in February 2008, is focused on funding fellowships, scholarships and internships for undergraduate students and those planning to pursue graduate studies in building engineering, design or technology. It also provides financial support for individuals and organizations pursuing philanthropic activities related to building engineering, design or technology. Key elements of the program are college scholarships, traveling internships and grants to and partnerships with nonprofit organizations.

In addition to supporting students, the Foundation has provided funds to more than 40 organizations for specific projects aimed at helping underserved communities. These include Bridges to Prosperity, Engineers in Action, The Marconi Society, Urban Assembly, GeoHazards International and Archive Global. It also funded the creation of a website and distribution of Those Amazing Professions book series, which seeks to introduce architecture, engineering and construction careers to upper elementary and middle school students.

We are proud to have supported more than 55 students at more than 30 colleges and universities around the world.

“The Thornton Tomasetti Foundation is pleased to award scholarships and fellowships to these sharp young minds and support their educational pursuits, and we look forward to their contributions to these fields.” – Richard Tomasetti
