Wayne Stocks Nominated to Board of Governors at Thornton Tomasetti Foundation

(New York, NY – July 5, 2011) – Thornton Tomasetti, the international engineering firm, announces that R. Wayne Stocks, P.E., LEED AP, the firm’s leader of the Mid-Atlantic and U.S Southern regions, has been appointed to the
Board of Governors of the Thornton Tomasetti Foundation.
The Thornton Tomasetti Foundation is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization established in February 2008. One
of the Foundation’s primary goals is to provide financial support for individuals and organizations pursuing philanthropic activities related to building engineering, design or technology.

Mr. Stocks holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University, as well as a Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Structural Engineers Association of Metropolitan Washington (SEA-MW), and is a member of Thornton Tomasetti’s Member IM Executive Steering Committee, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and The Structural Engineering Institute (SEI). Mr. Stocks is also a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the American Concrete Institute (ACI).
